In 1966, the MS Wadin is completed as a Frigor container ship at the Bodan shipyard in Steckborn on behalf of the Wädenswil brewery. - 1966-1972 Wädenswil beer transport ship
The MS Wadin served as a beer ship and transported 3,750 wooden crates of beer per trip to the depots in Lachen, Rapperswil, Männedorf, Zurich and Wollishofen. From 1969, the ship was loaded with pallets (64 pallets of 40 crates plus draught beer). The MS Wadin replaced the old delivery ship Gambrina. - 1972-1992 Beer ship
Installation of doors and increased use for customer service, transportation of depositors, innkeepers, etc. Among other things, the MS Wadin served as a means of transportation for brewery tours. After the closure of the depot in Zurich, it was converted by Swissair for social events in 1973. - 1992-2017 Party baot
In May 1992, Fredi Bannwart buys the MS Wadin and converts it into a party boat. From this point onwards, the ship is equipped with ventilation and heating systems, large windows, a complete kitchen, carpeting and seating. Various extensions, renovations, a new engine, etc. are added in the following years. - 2017 Change of ownership
The MS Wadin has a new owner and will continue to sail on Lake Zurich! Andreas Rieser is taking over the MS Wadin from Fredi Bannwart. Mr. Bannwart, crew and captains remain loyal to the ship and will continue to be seen on board in the future - 2017 MS Wadin receives new floor
- 2018 The MS Wadin receives a new headlight and a new Swiss Radar
- 2019 The MS Wadin receives new oak benches and a cigar humidor
- 2020 The MS Wadin will be equipped with new LED lighting
- A new mural is being painted by artist Deborah Kressebuch at the back of the ship.
- 2021 The MS Wadin receives a new music system
with 14 ceiling speakers, 3 subwoofers, 1 Pioneer mixing console, Bluetooth microphone incl. headset and a new master unit. - MS Wadin has new 4-seater and 2-seater tables made from oak.
The MS Wadin gets a wine cooler.
- In spring, the old Swissair toilet is extended and a new unisex toilet and an additional urinal and washbasin are added.
- The MS Wadin will be dewatered in summer 2022. The underwater, running deck and ship’s superstructure will be repainted. A larger corner bench will be installed in the bow and the ship will be re-labeled
- In the kitchen there is a new dishwasher, coffee machine and a liquor cabinet.
